At EAA, we consider chamber music to be a necessary and an integral part of musical development. Our chamber program is designed to mentor and help pianists to learn and improve the skills of performance and collaborations in an ensemble setting. We coach the our players through maintaining strong sense of rhythm, listening to individual lines of instruments, and building the awareness of differences in instrumental timbre and power.
Chamber Music Ensembles

Usually chamber music is performed by very small groups of students, most commonly for duos (piano + violin, piano + cello, piano + flute, etc), trios (piano + violin + cello, etc), quartets (string, piano and mixed), and quintets. We help match students of similar skill level who would like to play chamber music with their peers. Our faculty will be happy to suggest suitable repertoire and mentor assigned groups.
EAA Chamber Orchestra

EAA chamber orchestra provides our students a wonderfully-balanced fun and challenging experience of preparing major orchestral works for performance under guidance of celebrated conductors and working closely with their peers. Orchestra studies require to attend rehearsals, as well as to practice each player’s assigned part in advance. Performance and rehearsal schedule is available upon inquiry and will be posted on our website.
EAA Choir

Choir singing, on the other hand, allows each student to train his or her natural instrument, the voice, as well as the ear, perception and control of pitch, ability to focus and attentively listen to one’s individual line. A broad range of works, from Holiday carols to Verdi’s Requiem will be prepared for public performances. Each student must audition for the assessment of their technical skills, voice range and placement within the choir. Rehearsal attendance is mandatory.
Music Performance Seminars

EAA performance practice seminars offer in-depth studies of performing traditions of select piano works of typical styles, compare existing video and audio recordings of generations of masters, review and analyze them with the score. The goal of performance practice classes is to encourage creative musical thinking and develop the student’s ability to make independent, informed decisions about how a certain piece should be interpreted. Furthermore, attending students may be asked by the faculty to play pieces they are currently working on in front of their peers. Afterward, students are encouraged to engage in a friendly exchange of feedback on how the performance may be improved, led by EAA faculty.
EAA Rock and Jazz Bands

Finally, our last group music course, Rock-Star Bands, allows EAA students to develop necessary skills, form their own band and learn first to perform cover songs before attempting to write their own compositions.
