Lauren Haren, violin
Lauren Haren is a classically trained violinist and violist. She has studied with Alan Bodman and Cory Smith at the University of Akron where she earned her BM in violin performance in 2011 and MM in viola performance in 2013.
Ms. Haren has been teaching private violin and viola lessons for a number of years to students of all ages. Her students have participated in numerous competitions and festivals, including the Golden Key Music Festival, National Federation of Music Club’s Spring Festival, and have successfully auditioned for various competitive youth orchestras throughout Loudoun and Fairfax Counties.
Ms. Haren has been performing freelance for many years and has played with a number of noteworthy conductors such as Marvin Hamlisch, Benjamin Zander, Skitch Henderson, and Matthias Bamert. Lauren has also played with many accomplished musicians including Pinchas Zuckerman, Gil Shaham, William Preucil, and Andrés Cárdenes. Ms. Haren has also had the pleasure to perform in masterclasses with The Harlem Quartet, Ilya Kaler, and Maria Bachman.
Ms. Haren has played professionally with Akron Baroque, Singers Companye, and Trans-Siberian Orchestra. She will begin her season with Loudoun Symphony Orchestra in Fall 2019.
Ms. Haren is an active member of the Northern Virginia Music Teachers Association (NVMTA) and the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA). She has also earned a certificate with distinction from Northwestern University and Coursera for completing the course “Teaching the Violin and Viola: Creating a Healthy Foundation”.
She currently teaches private lessons to violin and viola students of all ages in the Northern Virginia area.
